Welcome to Sol Antic, I am Xor, a former computer technician from Barcelona that changed his life in the pursuit of freedom and knowledge. Now I work as a wire artisan full time.
My first encounter with a nomadic wire artisan was in 2008, at the oasis of Huacachina near the town of Ica, amidst an awe-inspiring sea of golden sand dunes in Peru. This shaman-artisan, Patricio, taught me about the ways of the desert through his philosophical teachings, and he was my first mentor in the art of wire craft. However, at the time, I wasn’t prepared to embrace a nomadic lifestyle and was still uncertain of my own abilities. So, I returned to Barcelona, having been transformed somewhat, but not yet possessing the self-sufficiency to survive on my own.
In 2010, an opportunity presented itself and I was able to return to America, not to the ancient lands of Peru, but to the sacred lands of Mexico. I accepted a low-level computer technician job with a large corporation, but in February 2011, I left the job behind and embarked upon a magical and empowering journey through the lands of Latin America, from Mexico all the way down to Argentina.
For over ten years now, I have been living a nomadic life, taking every opportunity to learn new ancient techniques along the way. My next goal is to travel to Eastern Europe and Asia, but before that, I will be settling in a small town on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica for a while. Here, in the solitude of the jungle, I have established a workshop to expand my knowledge of metal smelting and alchemy.
In the heart of the jungle, I will bring my deepest dreams to life through these magical creations where metal will meet soul and flesh. It is my hope that you will wear them with pride!
